You can collect from your maps topics with any Task info.

Task info are the data that you can see in the Task Info task pane in MindManager.

They include:

Priority

Progress

Task dates

Effort

Resources

Rollup tasks

Let's see how one can collect topics with this task info.

Priority

Set desired Priority icon on the collection topic.

Select this topic and click Collect Data. All topics with this Priority will be collected under this topic.

If you want, you can create the keyword "Priority N" in the config map and set the wanted Priority icon on it. This keyword may now be used to collect data by this Priority, and now you'll see it in the Data Collection Keywords window.

Progress

Set desired Progress icon on the collection topic.

Select this topic and click Collect Data. All topics with this Progress will be collected under this topic.

But what if you want to collect tasks that have Progress, for example, from 51% to 99% (collect tasks that are more than half completed but not yet completed)? Is it possible?

Yes, if you use the macro language in the topic notes.

In this case, you should put the follow code in the topic notes: "complete: 51-99"

and this topic will collect all relevant tasks.

If you want, you can create wanted keyword (Half ready, Almost done, etc) in the config map and set needed Progress icon on it or add needed code in this keyword notes. This keyword may now be used to collect data by this Progress, and now you'll see it in the Data Collection Keywords window.

Task dates

There are many keywords in the config-map related to the task dates. Use them.

But you can also collect topics that fall into exactly specified period of time.

To do this, simply set the wanted dates on the collection topic:

and this topic will coolect all tasks when their dates fall within the specified period.

Effort

There are keywords in the config map that allow to collect tasks that have a certain range of Effort values. Similarly, you can collect tasks with any reffort range.

You can also collect tasks with the exact Effort value, setting Effort value to the collection topic.

Resources

There are several keywords in the configuration map that work with resources.

Resources - allows you to collect all tasks that have resources.

No resources - allows you to collect all the tasks that don't have resources.

My tasks - allows you to collect all tasks that are either don't have resources, or have a resource "Me", or have a resource whose name is the same as the one you have in the MindManager options (File - Options - User Information - User Name) .

And what about collecting tasks with a specific resource?

To do this, simply add this resource to collection topic and click Collect data.

You need to set a specific resource on the collection topic exactly as it looks on the topics in your maps. I.e. you need to remember his exact name. Or find it in some map and copy it. Which is not very convenient. There are two ways to simplify this:

1) add all your resources to Common Lists. And when needed, just open the Common Lists and add the resource from there;

2) in the Data Collection configuration map, in the keywords branch, create a topic with this resource. Now you have a keyword that will collect tasks with this resource.

Data Collection macro language allows some more options to collect resources.

Resources in MindManager are case sensitive. That is, resource "Ross" and resource "ross" are different resources! By default, data collection by resources is not case sensitive, i.e. tasks will be collected both with the "Ross" resource, and with the "ross" resource. But if you want it to be case sensitive, use the "casesensitive" macrolanguage operator in the topic notes with this criteriа.

Rollup tasks

You know MindManager allows you to combine Task info. Choose the parent topic of the branch with tasks and click the option "Roll up Task Info". Now this topic has become a rollup or a summary task.

You can collect such topics from your project maps. For example, create a dashboard map to monitor progress of all your projects.

Take note of the "Rollup topics" keyword in the config map.
